When to participate for the HMDS in Wadi Rum desert?

The sand marathon has 2 editions in Wadi Rum for 2024. The first occurred last May and the second in November from 2nd to 9th. The November session is already complete. If you didn’t have the opportunity to register in 2024, don’t worry, the 2025 editions are already planned!

• May 9th to 16th, 2025 (5th edition)
• November 1st to 8th, 2025 (6th edition)

The program planned for the week in Jordan

Possible running distances:

You can choose from 3 different distances: 70, 100 or 120Km.

Divided into 3 steps:
• 1: About 25 to 30 km
• 2: about 20, 40 or 60 km
• 3: About 25 to 30 km

These steps can be done by walking or running. To learn more about distances and speeds, find all the information below:

What is included in their rates

• Transfers between the airport, the hotel and the desert
• 4 hotel nights in a double or triple room on the shores of the Dead Sea (2 before the race, 2 after)
• Bib for adventure
• 3 nights on the MDS bivouac, in an individual tent
• Medal and finisher t-shirt
• Discovery of the city of Petra
• Dinner and Gala evening

For rooms (not mixed) at the hotel, they are shared. If you experiment with acquaintances, it is possible to ask them to be together. Knowing that the rooms are for 2 to 3 people.

What to take with you for the trip to Jordan

After your registration you will have a complete list of things to take away that will be sent to you. Find the essentials in the list below :

• Backpack more than 2 water bottles (type Ultrabag 20L)
• T-shirt + running shorts
• Trail-type shoes + Anti-sand gaters
• Cap and sunglasses
• Change: T-shirt + light shorts / leggings
• Windproof jacket for the evening and morning
• Duvet + mattress for the night
• Hygiene products (sunscreen, soap, antiseptic…)
• Toilet paper
• Food and kitchen utensils (popote, lighter, fire pellet…)
