If you read about Wadi Rum, you will often read about the two distinct parts : the red and white desert. There aren’t two separate regions, but parts of the same protected area.
We separate these two parts by sand colors, landscapes, accessibility and the experience you can have once on tour.
The majority of the sand in the desert is red, the red desert can be found the northern part and westerns. But the sand is not only red in our beautiful desert.
The second part is called the white desert, it is located in the southern part and is connected to the border of Saudi Arabia. But do not expect pure white sand, it will be different kinds of yellow and orange rather than red.

People often come for one day because they do not have the time to visit the white part, as it needs more time in Wadi Rum.
Well, basically, you could visit the white part only, or make a mix. But most people tend to book the classic tour in the redder part to see the most famous places, as it is a good mix between different kinds of sites : arches, canyons, inscriptions and beautiful views.
Both parts offer a different visit, the white part is really beautiful, quiet and has many views and open landscapes. However, for the redder part, the sites are closer to each other and you spend less time driving to reach them. It’s two different kinds of visits.
When booking the full day jeep tour ( Classic tour ) you will be visiting the red desert only and the only moment you will go to the whiter part is after Um Frouth ( the last site ) for sunset.
The white desert is usually visited in other programs as proposed in the slide.
But keep in mind that we can always adapt any of our programs.
Travelers who have the time to visit the desert for a longer period than a day, will have the opportunity to go to the white desert on day 2. We propose different kinds of programs for 2 days.
Your next question will probably be : How can I make the choice between the red and white part?
Well, it all depends on what you are looking for and on your budget of course. Going to the white desert means driving deep and much more than for a classic tour.
Some people will look for a tour with the most sites and see different types of places. And others will want to see places and at the same time have a relaxing time and go at a slower pace. It all depends to what you are looking for and we are here to help you with that.
